What do I do if my hearing aid stops working or doesn't work as well as when I first bought it?
Usually if your hearing aid stops working or the sound quality decreases, this means your hearing aid is dirty or occluded with ear wax. In order to clean your hearing aid, replace your hearing aid's wax traps and microphone covers, if applicable. Ensure your hearing aid battery is functioning and there is no battery erosion in the hearing aid. Brush off all debri and dirt from the casing of the hearing aid.
If after cleaning your hearing aid it still is not working properly, bring your hearing aid in to your audiologist's office so they can professionally clean and check your hearing aid.
