Sound enters the hearing aid through the microphone, is processed through the computer chip inside, and exits through the speaker where it send the amplified sound directly to your ear.
The computer chip inside your hearing aid can be connected to your audiologist's computer software. This allows your hearing aid to be programmed to specifically meet your hearing needs by making those pitches where you had a loss in hearing louder so you can hear them at a normal level again. Also, hearing aids focus on decreasing background noise and increasing speech to make it easier to understand when someone is talking to you.
